The goshawk/northern goshawk is a species of medium-large raptor. Goshawks can be found in both deciduous and coniferous forests. These have short, broad wings and long tails. Generally these are blue-grey above or brownish-grey with dark barring or streaking over a grey or white base color below.
The juvenile plumage of the species may cause some confusion, especially with other Accipiter juveniles. The picture in the cover here shows a juvenile goshawk.
