Pankaj Advani

Pankaj Advani recently won his 22nd World Billiards Title at the IBSF World Billiards Championship 2019. This is Advani’s fourth consecutive world title in billiards short format (150-up). Speaking on his consecutive victories, Advani stated that it is such a touch-and-go format and so unpredictable that winning these four years on the trot and five out of the last six is extremely special.
On winning his 22nd gold medal, Advani said, “Every time I participate in a world championship, one thing is clear - my motivation to excel has not diminished. This win is a testament to the fact that my hunger and fire are both well and truly alive.”
Pankaj Advani claimed his 22nd World Championship title in Mandalay similarly as he had won in the 2018 IBSF World Billiards Championship. The match ended up being one-sided, with the same outcome and an identical score of 6-2 as it was in 2018.

Pankaj Advani beat the local favourite, Myanmar’s Nay Thway Oo again to claim his 22nd title, while Oo had to settle for silver for the second time in a row. 
Previously, Advani achieved a hat-trick of hat-tricks in billiards by simultaneously winning the World, Asian and Indian National Championship titles in 5 different years- 2005, 2008, 2012, 2017 and 2019.
Advani is currently the only player in the world to win world titles in both short and long formats of snooker (6-red and 15-red standard) and both formats of English billiards (time and point).

എക്കാലത്തേയും ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വനിതാ സ്പ്രിന്റര്‍ എന്ന വിശേഷണത്തിനര്‍ഹയായ ജമൈക്കന്‍ ഹ്രസ്വദൂര ഓട്ടക്കാരിയാണ് ഷെല്ലി ആന്‍ ഫ്രേസര്‍ പ്രൈസ്. 100 മീറ്റര്‍ ഓട്ടത്തില്‍ ഒളിമ്പിക്‌സിലും ലോക ചാമ്പ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പിലും സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിയ വ്യക്തിയാണ് ഷെല്ലി. 2008 ബെയ്ജിങ്ങ് ഒളിമ്പിക്‌സില്‍ 100 മീറ്ററില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണം നേടുമ്പോള്‍ ഷെല്ലിക്ക് 21 വയസ്സ് മാത്രമായിരുന്നു പ്രായം. 2012 ലെ ലണ്ടന്‍ ഒളിമ്പിക്‌സിലും സ്വര്‍ണ നേട്ടം നിലനിര്‍ത്താന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കായി. 2017ല്‍ അത്‌ലറ്റിക്‌സില്‍ നിന്ന് മാറി നിന്ന ഷെല്ലി 2019 ല്‍ നടന്ന ദോഹ ലോക അത്‌ലറ്റിക് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിക്കൊണ്ടാണ് തിരിച്ചു വരവ് ഗംഭീരമാക്കിയത്. 

ലോക അത്‌ലറ്റിക് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പുകളില്‍ നാല് വട്ടം സ്വര്‍ണമെഡല്‍ നേടുന്ന (2009, 2013, 2015, 2019) ആദ്യ സ്പ്രിന്ററും 'പോക്കറ്റ് റോക്കറ്റ് എന്ന് വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഷെല്ലി തന്നെ'. ഇക്കാര്യത്തില്‍ സാക്ഷാല്‍ ഉസൈന്‍ ബോള്‍ട്ടിനെയും ഷെല്ലി മറികടന്നു. ജൈമൈക്കയിലെ കിങ്സ്റ്റണ്‍ പട്ടണത്തില്‍ ജനിച്ചു.

ഹിമ ദാസ് (Hima Das)

ഇന്ത്യയുടെ അഭിമാനമായ ഒരു കായിക താരമാണ് ഹിമ ദാസ്. ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊരു അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര കായികമേളയില്‍ ട്രാക്ക് ഇനത്തില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണമെഡല്‍ കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയ ആദ്യത്തെ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ അത്‌ലറ്റാണ് ഹിമ. 2018 ല്‍ ഫിന്‍ലാന്റിലെ ടാമ്പെരെയില്‍ വച്ചു നടന്ന ലോക അണ്ടര്‍20 അത്‌ലറ്റിക് ചാമ്പ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പില്‍ 400 മീറ്റര്‍ ഇനത്തിലാണ് ഹിമ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണമെഡല്‍ നേടിയത്.
അടുത്തകാലത്ത് 2019 ജൂലൈ മാസത്തില്‍ മാത്രം വിവിധ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര കായിക മേളകളില്‍നിന്നായി 5 സ്വര്‍ണമെഡലുകളാണ് ഹിമ നേടിയത്. ജൂലൈ 2ന് പോളണ്ടിലെ പൊസ്‌നാനില്‍ വച്ചുനടന്ന ഗ്രാന്‍ഡ്പ്രിക്‌സ് അത്‌ലറ്റിക്‌സ് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പിലും, ജൂലൈ 7ന് പോളണ്ടില്‍തന്നെ അരങ്ങേറിയ കുട്‌നോ അത്‌ലറ്റിക്‌സ് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പിലും, ജൂലൈ 13ന് ചെക് റിപബ്ലിക് ആതിഥ്യം വഹിച്ച ക്ലാഡ്‌നോ അത്‌ലറ്റിക്‌സ് മീറ്റിലും, ജൂലൈ 17ന് അവിടത്തന്നെ വച്ചു നടന്ന ടബോര്‍ അത്‌ലറ്റിക്‌സ് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പിലും 200 മീറ്റര്‍ ഇനത്തില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിയ ഹിമ, ജൂലൈ 20ന് ചെക് റിപബ്ലികിലെ നോവെ മെറ്റ്‌സോ ആതിഥ്യമരുളിയ അത്‌ലറ്റിക്‌സ് മീറ്റില്‍ 400 മീറ്ററിലും സ്വര്‍ണം കരസ്ഥമാക്കി.
അസ്സം സംസ്ഥാനത്തെ നഗാവോനിലുള്ള ധിങ് എന്ന സ്ഥലത്താണ് ഹിമ ദാസ് ജനിച്ചത്. സ്ഥലനാമം ചേര്‍ത്ത് 'ധിങ് എക്‌സ്പ്രസ്' എന്ന് ഹിമയ്ക്ക് വിളിപ്പേര് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുമുണ്ട്.
Hima Das, is a sprint runner and the proud of our country. She is the first Indian athlete the first Indian sprinter to win a gold medal at an international track event. She also holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79. 
Hima Das won the 400 m final at the World U-20 Championships 2018 held at Tampere, Finland with a ime of 51.46 seconds. Recently, in the month of July in 2019, Hima Das bagged a total of 5 gold medals in different international venues. She won 200m Gold in Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland, on July 2, 2019,  won 200m gold at the Kutno Athletics Meet, also in Poland, on July 7, won 200m gold at the Kladno Athletics Meet in the Czech Republic on July 13, bagged the gold medal in the 200m race at the Tabor Athletics Meet, in the Czech Republic on July 17 and won her fifth gold of the month in 400-meter race in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic on 20 July. Hima Das was born on 9th January 2000 at Dhing, Nagaon district in Assam. She is nicknamed ‘the Dhing Express’, in connection with her nativity.

അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ഷൂട്ടിംഗ് രംഗത്തെ പുത്തന്‍ താരോദയമാണ് ഇന്ത്യക്കാരിയായ അപൂര്‍വി സിംഗ് ചന്ദേല (Apurvi Singh Chandela)..
2012ല്‍ ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹിയില്‍ വച്ചുനടന്ന ദേശീയ ഷൂട്ടിംഗ് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പില്‍, 10 മീറ്റര്‍ എയര്‍ റൈഫിള്‍ ഇനത്തില്‍, സ്വര്‍ണം നേടിക്കൊണ്ടാണ് അപൂര്‍വി വരവറിയിച്ചത്. പിന്നീട് 2014ല്‍ ഗ്ലാസ്‌ഗോയില്‍ വച്ചു നടന്ന കോമണ്‍വെല്‍ത്ത് ഗെയിംസില്‍ ഇതേ ഇനത്തില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണ്ണ മെഡല്‍ നേടി. 2018 ഏഷ്യന്‍ ഗെയിംസില്‍ മിക്‌സഡ് ഇനത്തില്‍ വെങ്കല മെഡല്‍ കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. തുടര്‍ന്ന് 2019 ഫെബ്രുവരിയില്‍ ഇന്റര്‍നാഷണല്‍ ഷൂട്ടിംഗ് ഫെഡറേഷന്‍ ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹിയില്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച ഷൂട്ടിംഗ് ലോക കപ്പ് ചാംപ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പില്‍ 10 മീറ്റര്‍ എയര്‍ റൈഫിള്‍ ഇനത്തില്‍ ലോക റെക്കോഡോടെ സ്വര്‍ണം നേടി. ഇതിനുശേഷം 2019 മെയ് മാസത്തില്‍ ജര്‍മനിയിലെ മ്യൂണിച്ചില്‍ വച്ചു നടന്ന, ഇന്റര്‍നാഷണല്‍ ഷൂട്ടിംഗ് ഫെഡറേഷന്‍ ലോക കപ്പിലും തന്റ ഇഷ്ട ഇനമായ 10 മീറ്റര്‍ എയര്‍ റൈഫിളില്‍ അപൂര്‍വി സ്വര്‍ണനേട്ടം ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു. ഇതോടെ അവൂര്‍വി ഈ ഇനത്തില്‍ ലോക നമ്പര്‍ വണ്‍ പദത്തിലുമെത്തി.
രാജസ്ഥാനിലെ ജയ്പൂരില്‍ 1993, ജനുവരി 4നാണ് അപൂര്‍വി ചന്ദേല ജനിച്ചത്. പിതാവ് കുല്‍ദീപ് സിംഗ് ചന്ദേലയും മാതാവ് ബിന്ദു രാത്തോറുമാണ്.
