കൊനേരു ഹംപി (Koneru Humpy)

ലോക വനിതാ റാപിഡ് ചെസ് ചാംപ്യന്‍. 1987 മാര്‍ച്ച് 31ന് ആന്ധ്രപ്രദേശിലെ വിജയവാഡക്കടുത്തുള്ള ഗുഡിവാഡയില്‍ ജനിച്ചു.
1995 ല്‍ എട്ടുവയസ്സില്‍ താഴെയുള്ളവരുടെ നാഷണല്‍ ചാമ്പ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പോടെയാണ് കരിയറില്‍ തുടക്കം. 12-ാം വയസ്സില്‍ ഇന്റെര്‍ നാഷണല്‍ മാസ്റ്റര്‍ ചാമ്പ്യന്‍ഷിപ്പ് നേടി. 15-ാം വയസ്സില്‍ ഇന്റെര്‍ നാഷണല്‍ ഗ്രാന്റ് മാസ്റ്റര്‍ റ്റൈറ്റില്‍ നേടുന്ന പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ താരമായി. 

ജൂഡിറ്റ് പോള്‍ഗാറിനു ശേഷം എലോ റേറ്റിങ്ങില്‍ 2600 കടന്ന രണ്ടാമത്തെ നിതാ ചെസ്സ് താരവുമാണ് ഹംപി. അര്‍ജുന (2003), പത്മശ്രീ (2007) പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങള്‍ നല്‍കി രാഷ്ട്രം അവരെ ആദരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

(The Indian chess grandmaster and the current World Rapid Chess Champion. In October 2007, she became the second female player, after Judit Polgár, to exceed the 2600 Elo rating mark. In 2002, Koneru became the youngest woman ever to achieve the title of grandmaster at the age of 15 years, 1 month, 27 days, beating Judit Polgár’s previous mark by three months. 
Humpy was awarded prestigious awards such as Arjuna Award (2003), Padma Shri (2007) and so on. She was born on 31 March 1987, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.)
