Greta Thunberg (ഗ്രേറ്റ എര്മാന് തന്ബര്ഗ്)
A Swedish teenage environmental activist whose campaigning has gained international recognition. Thunberg got fame at the age of 15 as she began spending her school days outside the Swedish parliament by holding up a placard saying, “School strike for climate”. Soon, several students follow her model in her motherland as well around the world. Thunberg also won in convincing her parents to adopt several lifestyle choices to reduce their own carbon footprint, including giving up air travel and not eating meat.
Thunberg addressed the 2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference. The Time magazine has been named her as one of the 100 most influential people of 2019. She has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, this year. In September 2019, she addressed the UN Climate Action Summit in New York, as well.
Greta Thunberg was born on 3 January 2003 in Stockholm, Sweden. Her mother is Malena Ernman, a famous opera singer and her father is actor Svante Thunberg.
