This is a small bird commonly found in Asian countires. This is similar to a sparrow in size. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical hill forests. It is olive yellow in colour, with multiple darker streaks. Its beak is long and curved which is specially adapted for sucking nectar. It has yellow legs. This bird’s call is frequent and loud with a ‘chitick, chitick’ sound.
This bird nests on trees and the nest is usually made of leaves that are tied together with cobwebs.
This is also called crested bulbul which is native to Asia. It is common in hill forests and urban gardens.
It has brown upper-parts and whitish underparts. The tall pointed black crest, red face patch and thin black moustachial line are its specialities. The tail is long and brown with white terminal feather tips. Its loud call which includes three or four note is peculkiar.

Swainson’s spurfowl was named after William Swainson, an English ornithologist. This bird has dark streaks, dark blackish legs, and bare red face and throat. It frequents grasslands and savannas.

ബംഗാള്‍ വീവര്‍, ബ്ലാക്ക് ത്രോട്ടഡ് വീവര്‍ എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള പേരുകളിലും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഇവ പ്രധാനമായും ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഉപഭൂഖണ്ഡത്തില്‍ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു.
സാധാരണ ഗതിയില്‍ ഇവയുടെ തല കറുപ്പു കലര്‍ന്ന തവിട്ടു നിറമാണെങ്കിലും പ്രജനനകാലത്ത് ആണ്‍പക്ഷികളുടെ തലയുടെ മുകളില്‍ സ്വര്‍ണ നിറം കലര്‍ന്ന മഞ്ഞ തൂവലുകളുണ്ടാവും. ഉയരത്തില്‍ വളരുന്ന പുല്ലുകളും മുളകളും മറ്റും ഉള്ള ഇടങ്ങളിലലാണ് സാധാരണ കൂടുണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്.
ഏഷ്യന്‍ ബാര്‍ബെറ്റ് എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഇവ പ്രധാനമായും തെക്കു കിഴക്കന്‍ ഏഷ്യന്‍ ഭൂവിഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. നീല നിറത്തിലുള്ള തലഭാഗം, മഞ്ഞ നിറത്തിലുള്ള കൊക്ക്, തവിട്ടും പച്ചയും കലര്‍ന്ന ശരീരം എന്നിവയാണിതിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകതകള്‍.
മരപ്പൊത്തുകളിലാണ് ഇവ കൂടുണ്ടാക്കുക. പഴങ്ങളും ചെറുപ്രാണികളുമാണ് ഭക്ഷണം.
